Teacher Training


Dutchess Yoga offers a full-range of Yoga Teacher Training Courses and Yoga Teacher Certifications registered by the Yoga Alliance - 50, 100, 200, and 500 hours - where you will learn a unique blend of a wide variety of traditional styles and techniques.

The curriculum includes:

Anatomy and physiology by Sandy who is trained as a nurse
Yoga & Nutrition
The Roots of Yoga
Yoga Asanas in Sanskrit and English
Yoga Mudras
Alignment and Adjustments
Proper use of props and bolsters
The Eight Limbs of Yoga
Seated Meditation
Study of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Bhagavad Gita (as explained by Swami Satchidananda)
Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation)

We will also explore different styles, forms and schools of asana execution, and how to connect with students in a loving way.
We will study the difference between standing poses and moving from pose to pose with the breath.
By the end of training, you will know how to conduct a basic beginner hour-long class with Sun Salutation, standing and seated postures, and a Yoga Nidra at the end.
